What’s green, mountainous and can be seen by walking border to border in less than a day? Luxembourg.
It was brutal scaling the hill to the hostel (road is pictured on the right), but the weather is beautiful and I met travelers who had helpful tips about laundry and packing toiletries. We walked through the countryside and took photos, then I went the rest of the way alone, marveling over pralines and marzipan in sweet shops and wandering the square’s open market.
A light snow began to fall at 21:00 as I walked through empty streets to the station. On the train, I sit and wonder if I’m facing forward or backward. It’s hard to tell, sometimes, until you start the journey. Like life.
